"So you are forgiven, so turn to each other, blaming one another. Then those who were weakened said to those who were arrogant, 'If it were not for you, we would have been believers.' And those who were arrogant said to those who were weakened, 'Did we turn you away from guidance after it came to you? Rather, you were criminals. So if you have light, believe in Allah and His Messenger and confirm my covenant with you and come out to us as Muslims. And whoever is safe, is safe. But if you insist on disbelief and being deceived by tears and gunpowder, then you will be killed, as the master of existence informed you, and your example from the soldiers. And peace. 19 Dhu al-Hijjah, year 300.

It is also noted from this that they threatened us, knowing what they suffered from our bombardment yesterday, its date, and our formidable artillery. And it is true that we do not fear their names nor believe in their lying prophet. And nothing drove them to write these declarations except that they might be testing the strength we possess and their inability to present their arguments to escape our calamities. And it is not we who instill fear in them with these threats. But if their intention is to act like horses so that we bring them under our obedience out of fear of the severe torment they will face, then there is no need to trouble them by writing such falsehoods. All they have to do is surrender themselves, and may Allah forgive what has passed. And what is even stranger is that despite many of them being struck two days ago, its date, the words written by this accursed one on their hearts do not vanish from their minds until they come to us willingly. Then, as we were marching, we passed by a large fort. It was opposite the army, and many of the cavalry and Bashibozuk soldiers entered it. They found a reply, the original of which was sent from the lying faction in the month of Rabi' al-Akhir, year 300, after the governor and province of Kordofan had taken some of the sheikhs. It requested all that they had taken from Kordofan and to present themselves to him. And since this reply is something that we must preserve in this book, given the false observations it contains, we have committed to taking its exact copy here, and here it is: 'In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, the Kind Patron, and blessings be upon our master Muhammad and his family, with peace. And thereafter, from His servant Muhammad al-Mahdi, son of Sayyid Abdullah, to his beloved ones in Allah, especially the sons of Umm Sira, the Tawabiya, the Mahamid, the sons of Muhammad, the Ma'aliya, the Bahaiya, and all the mujahideen with Sheikh Madi. As for what follows, indeed the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. And Allah Almighty said: 'And We have honored the children of Adam and carried them on land and sea and provided them with good things and preferred them over much of what We have created, with [much] preference.' And we, on the day Allah honored us and made us mighty with Islam, do not seek'"
