As for the Swahili language in Kenya and its neighboring countries, poetry appeared in it in the eighteenth century AD, and after that poetry appeared in Somalia in the Somali language. As for West Africa, poetry appeared in the Hausa language in Nigeria and neighboring countries in the seventeenth century AD, and at a later period Nigerian poets composed in the Yoruba language. As for the poetry in Senegal, Mali, and some states of Western Sudan, which were written in local languages, they remained mostly oral, linked to stories and myths. The Hausa, Swahili, and Amharic languages knew the alphabet, including the Arabic letter, before European colonialism entered the continent. What has reached us is dominated by religious, educational, and mystical poetry. This research is among the lectures we delivered to master’s students in comparative and world literature. o 1 -:الأدب الأفريقي يختلف الأدب الأفريقي من مجتمع إلى آخر في الدولة ال واحدة المتعد دة الأعراق والأديان ، كما يختلف من دولة إلى أخرى. لقد ظهر في البداية الأدب الشعبي وكان شفهيا وباللهجات المحلية ، ثم الآداب المكتوبة بلغات بعض الشعوب الأفريقية كالسواحلية في الشرق والهوسا في الغرب. وما وصل إلينا من الآداب الشفوية يدور في مجمله حول الخرافات وا لأساطير التي تخلط بين الحقيقة والخيال.

وبعد ذلك، تأثر الأدب الأفريقي بالأدب العربي الوافد مع الفتوحات الإسلامية في القرن الثامن للميلاد، وكذلك الأدب الأور و بي أثناء الاحتلال المسيحي في القرن التاسع عشر للميلاد. فنتج عن ذلك أدب أفريقي عربي وآخر أفريقي أوروبي بالإضافة إلى الأدب المكتوب باللغات المحلية الحديثة.

غير أن النقاد العرب وحتى الأفارقة لم يولوا الأدب الأفريقي العربي اهتماما ، أما الأدب الأفريقي الأوروبي فهو يحظى بعناية المراكز الثقافية و دعم المؤسسات السياسية في أوروبا، من أجل ترسيخ الثقافة ا لأوروبية في أفريقيا ،
