Furthermore, the Commander of the Faithful asks the cooperating states to fulfill their promise in persuading this rebellious subject to submit, cease his sedition, and not aspire to what leads to dire consequences. The Commander of the Faithful is certain of the good intentions of the cooperating states and their commitment to strengthening the foundations of peace and closing the doors to wars whose currents no one can bear to look upon without dread. Therefore, he implores them to consider this before resorting to action.

At this time, news reached Muhammad Ali Pasha from his son, Prince Ibrahim, about the exhaustion and hardship they were experiencing due to the attacks of the Sultan's vanguard on the Egyptian army's front lines, and the need to remain vigilant and fearful. The Prince feared that the states would not destroy them with ill intent, given the ongoing negotiations. However, no answer reached him until his ink flowed with blood and his sorrow froze. Mustashik, with a contingent of Kurdish mercenaries, intended to fight them. Mustashik continued to advance until he was a bowshot away from the Egyptian positions. This greatly concerned Prince Ibrahim, who mounted with a contingent of Egyptians to support his brother. Therefore, the people of that region, who were accustomed to such times, rose up to break their allegiance and joined in fighting the Egyptians, driving them from the land. The vanguard of Mustashik's forces reached Antama, where a contingent of Egyptian soldiers was present to receive the local populace. They broke their pact and returned without any provocation from the Egyptians. Prince Ibrahim then decided to evacuate his army from Antama. On the fourteenth of Rabi' al-Awwal of that year, they departed with all their belongings and livestock, heading towards the fighters who had been driven from Antama. The governor of 'Arsh, who had defected from Prince Ibrahim's obedience at the instigation of the Sultan's army commanders, began to administer the town and collect its wealth and livestock. On the seventeenth of Rabi' al-Awwal, Hafiz Pasha, the commander of the Sultan's armies, received a reinforcement of five thousand infantry and three thousand mercenaries. He marched to confront the Egyptian army. When he reached al-Dhurfan, the Sultan's army heard their cannons firing. When they approached, the Egyptian army wrote to the commander of the Sultan's army, saying: "If you know what is happening between the Commander of the Faithful and the states regarding the cessation of fighting, why do you await the end of peace between us and you? Suleiman Pasha al-Mu'ayyani, with a contingent of mercenary cavalry, attacked our army stationed in your province, and how did you send Mustashik with you in an army of Kurds to fight the people of (Yaba) and break their allegiance to us and not fight the people of the land?"

After that, the Prince Ibrahim wrote to Hafiz Pasha, the commander of the Sultan's army, saying: "If you know what is happening between the Commander of the Faithful and the states regarding the cessation of fighting, why do you await the end of peace between us and you? Suleiman Pasha al-Mu'ayyani, with a contingent of mercenary cavalry, attacked our army stationed in your province, and how did you send Mustashik with you in an army of Kurds to fight the people of (Yaba) and break their allegiance to us and not fight the people of the land?"
