He prepared and marched with a large gathering until they reached Tafialt. Its people resisted and fought them. He defeated them, took control, and conquered it. He then marched through the mountains, subduing those who resisted and bringing them under obedience. The Sanhaja tribes submitted. A war broke out between him and the Amir of the Masamida, with victories alternating between them. He eventually arrived in Marrakesh in the year 541 AH. There, Haneeba Al-Harrag bin Azzi Abu Sabana Tashbib, who was a young man, had pitched his tents on a small hill. He built a small city on it for himself and his army, and constructed a tall mosque whose minaret offered a view of Marrakesh. He observed the conditions of its people and his companions, the Maghathil. He fought them, leading the charge himself. He stayed there for eleven months until he conquered it in the year 542 AH. The Almoravid dynasty's reign ended. When Is'haf bin Yahya took control, he began to become arrogant and boastful. They called for Abd al-Mu'min. The Amir, Al-Hajj, responded, traveling by night. Written on his forehead was: "Be patient, like your father and mother. Be a strong man who fears not God." The Muwahhidun (Almohads) came to him and attacked him, striking him until they killed him. He was known for his bravery among the Shana'ja. Al-Harrag, despite his young age, was killed, and his head was severed. Abd al-Mu'min took control of it. This happened in the year 543 AH. The reign of the Almoravids ended, and their rule lasted seventy years. Four of them ruled: Yusuf, Ali bin Tashbib, Is'haf. When Abd al-Mu'min conquered it, he entered it and settled there. He ordered the mosque built by Yusuf bin Tashbib to be repaired. He built a large mosque in the palace, decorating it and perfecting its construction. Yusuf bin Tashbib had marched with Al-Mu'tamid bin Abbad and imprisoned him. As mentioned, he conquered Marrakesh. God granted him victory over the forces of the East. He increased his dominion with the blessing of the Everlasting King, whose kingdom shall not perish. This is the way of the world. He built a palace. We conclude our deeds with goodness and hope for eternal reward. Muhammad and his family are the best. When he had settled, he took the lands of the Banu Hammad. The Arabs, including the Banu Hilal, Al-Athib, Ari Daryah, and Z'uba, and other Arab tribes, gathered in the land of Tripoli, extending to the far west of Morocco. They said, "If Abd al-Mu'min comes, we will be expelled from our honor. We will not be able to bear it." They decided to leave the land before he could establish himself. They agreed to attack and wait for reinforcements. They resolved to leave their homes and possessions to plunder. Al-Haris was killed. News reached the Amir Naji, the ruler of Halaba, who sent for the Arab emirs, including Mahroub Ziyad, Jabala Abu Kamil, Hassan bin Uthman, and Isa bin Rahas, to gather them.
