The Shi'a have doors. They claim that Imam Ali left a small book in which - and that the Imams after him relied on it and called it "Al-Jafar" and "Al-Jafar" is what reaches four months of age for camels, the male is jafar and the female is jafra, and it is what we have corrupted to "al-shafra" meaning the small skin. It was the custom in their days to write on the skin - and sometimes they call it "Jafar al-Misk" and al-misk is the skin. So they made the book Jafar. The Shi'a have long stories about this. They claimed that it contained the names of those who would rule and the events that would befall them. Sometimes they mention a great battle with news of the world, and sometimes news of a state, mentioning what happened in the past, which is usually true, and what will happen in the future, which is unknown. Some examples of this Jafar will be presented to deceive people into believing in their dominance so that they will join them. When the Fatimids succeeded in establishing their state, this success encouraged others to imitate them whenever they wanted a revolution and felt oppressed. The spread of Mahdism in the Maghreb was greater than in the East for reasons: among them that the honored Mahra spread a tradition suggesting that the awaited Mahdi is from Marrakesh, and that the Moroccans have been known since ancient times.
