Al-Mazdagi (d. 1257 AH / 1839 CE). And Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Ali bin Al-Abid Al-Ansari Al-Fasi (d. 1263 AH / 1846 CE) who abridged Al-Kashshaf by Al-Zamakhshari and deleted from it the issues of I'tizal. And Abu Al-Abbas Ahmad bin Fartut Al-Sulami Al-Fami (d. 1361 AH / 1942 CE) who authored the book "Al-Istidrak wal-Itmam" concerning the ambiguous names in the Quran, in which he corrected Al-Suhayli in his book "Al-Ta'rif wal-I'lam bima Uhimma fil-Quran Al-Aziz min Al-Asma' wal-A'lam."
Also renowned in Hadith and its sciences were a group of prominent scholars, the Hadith masters. Among them: Abu Al-Khattab Umar bin Al-Hasan bin Dahya Al-Kalbi (d. 1335 AH / 1917 CE). He used to say that he had memorized the entirety of Sahih Muslim. He traveled to Egypt and its scholars tested his memorization by presenting him, in one session, with hadiths whose chains of narration were altered in their texts. He corrected the altered texts, recognized their changes, and then recited the hadiths with their original texts.
And among them is Abd Al-Rahman bin Muhammad Al-Makuli (d. 1264 AH / 1847 CE). And among them is Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Tahir Al-Husseini, who was a narrator of hadith, a memorizer of its texts, knowledgeable of its defects, aware of its men, and overseeing their classifications and histories.
And among them is Abu Ishaq Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Harun Al-Muradi Al-Fasi (d. 1264 AH / 1847 CE), who was the most knowledgeable of his time in hadith, the most retentive of history, men, and the science of jarh wa ta'dil (criticism and commendation of narrators). He was a jurist, a scholar of usul (principles of jurisprudence), and a mufassir (exegete). He traveled to Al-Andalus and acquired knowledge in Seville and Cordoba. Among his works are "Anwar Al-Ibtihaj fi Sharh Al-Ahkam" (Lights of Joy in the Explanation of Rulings); he also has an exegesis that reached Surah Al-Fath.
