based on a religious reform that the scholars of religion planted its seeds, and its content and methodology were conceived in their minds. Then they sought to achieve the authority that would implement it and make it a life for the people. The Almoravid state, which existed between 448 AH and 541 AH, is one of the states to which this saying applies.

The one who planted the seed of this state was the Moroccan jurist Abdullah bin Yasin. He was a student in the town of Nafis in Sous of the jurist Wajaj bin Zallu Al-Lamti, who was himself a student of Abu Imran Al-Fasi. Abu Imran Al-Fasi sent him, at the recommendation of his teacher Abu Imran Al-Fasi, to accompany Yahya bin Ibrahim Al-Kudali, the chief of Sanhaja, and Yahya bin Omar bin Taklaken Al-Lamtuni, to the tribes of Sanhaja and Lamtuna to teach them and make them understand their religion.

And there in the desert, Ibn Yasin began to spread knowledge and jurisprudence. His educational role soon turned into a jihad with the sword, aiming to establish an authority that could implement the reform whose foundations he laid and whose methodology he outlined.

Although his role in that jihad was limited to the intellectual and spiritual aspect, while Yahya bin Omar took on the military aspect, he enjoyed a prominent position among the people.

He is Musa bin Isa bin Abi Haj Al-Ghufjumi, the chief of the Maliki school in Qairawan. He traveled to Andalusia and the East, and he has a commentary on the Mudawwana. See his biography in Al-Sila by Ibn Bishkuwal, Al-Dibbaj by Ibn Farhun, and Al-Qurtas by Ibn Abi Zar'.
