| The Clear Statement Regarding the Case of Imam Al-Mahdi | 56 | There is no benefit for us in what he has narrated and ordered, and his investigation is limited to the narration of the news, as he has forbidden its investigation. The righteous benefit from what they believe to be true. If the narrations of the Shi'a are considered, they are based on the Quran, and they are weighed and measured by Islam. If the books they narrate are from the Quran, then their throne is established in judgment, and the truths they present are confirmed by the Noble Quran. So why are the reports of the weak in their chains of narration rejected? Are they not more numerous and of higher status? Are their narrations not from the Companions? Or is it that the matter is left to them, and the dots are placed on their letters? The Noble Quran has guided us to the correct method of dealing with what is attributed to it, saying: "Say, 'Have you seen what is in the heavens and the earth?' But signs and warners do not avail a people who do not believe." The meaning is: Do you consider the truthfulness of the Messenger, so you take the good and leave the bad? As the believer from the family of Pharaoh said: "And if he is a liar, then upon him is the sin of his lie; and if he is truthful, there will befall you some of what he promises you." This is the case with the narration whose chain of transmission is weak; it is the reports of the corrupt and the news of the hypocrites. Should we take the good and leave the bad, considering the truthfulness and correctness of the narration, especially since it has been established in reality? And He, the Almighty, said: "O you who have believed, if there comes to you a righteous person with news, investigate, lest you strike people in ignorance and become regretful over what you have done." So, it is commanded to investigate the news of the corrupt, and it is commanded to reject it. How then, if the narration is alive in reality, should we not investigate its authenticity? And the hadiths of the hypocrites and the reports of the corrupt and the news of the political hypocrites are all in the same category! Hudhayfah ibn al-Yaman said: There is no owner of a sedition who reaches the age of thirty, except that he is a liar. If you wish, I will reveal him to you, and I will tell you his name and his lineage, and I will bring him to the Day of Resurrection. This is what the Messenger of God, peace be upon him, said.
