And you have been called to jihad in the path of Allah, and you have been tempted by spoils, which are the ignited fire of Allah. As for defeating them in the name of the buffalo and the scorpions, and by the sword, beware lest Allah afflict you with a punishment from Him or by our hands. For Allah will surely afflict you with the earth, or send down thunderbolts upon you, or some of you will be torn apart, or scattered in pieces. And with all that, you know what happened to the Turks when they surrendered the throne and the kingdom, and all of that was to transgress the limits of Allah. So wait and see how they became in your possession, and He gave you control of their forelocks, their burdens, and their homes, and allowed you to see what was hidden from you. So be thankful for Allah's bounty upon you, for bounties are good. Restrain them with gratitude, for they have no end with gratitude, and no permanence with ingratitude. And with the injustice of the Turks and their demand for the jizya, which Allah and His Messenger did not command them to do, you were obedient and submissive to their command wherever they commanded. So how is it now that Allah has revealed to you from His abundant grace, that you do not agree to establish the religion and destroy the polytheists? And He has expanded all of this for you because of what has reached me about you, that you have preferred this worldly life over the Hereafter and loved the gathering of spoils, coveting this world which is worth, in the sight of Allah, no more than a mosquito's wing. As the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "If the world were worth, in the sight of Allah, the wing of a mosquito, He would not give the disbeliever a sip of water from it." And since you understand this, whoever among you believes in Allah and the Last Day and believes that I am the Mahdi, the awaited one, let him surrender all that he has and under his control of harmful spoils, including money, slaves, horses, weapons, and others. In summary, if you wake up and return and surrender what you have of spoils, then you will be forgiven, and perhaps Allah will forgive you, and you will be among the supporters of Allah's religion. Otherwise, you will be sinful with the wrath of Allah and His Messenger, then our wrath, and what befell others will befall you, let alone your falling under the threat of His saying: "And whoever betrays, he will bring what he betrayed on the Day of Resurrection." Indeed, the master of existence, peace be upon him, informed me that whoever takes something from the spoils, it will diminish, and wherever he is, the Prophet, peace be upon him, will see it and kill him. And since my beloved ones know this, after this warning, there is nothing but the sword. If you do not enjoy what I have commanded you, then announce war from Allah and His Messenger, or wander in the earth, for the reins of power are around your necks wherever you go, and your forelocks are in His grasp, by the will of Allah Almighty. For you know that I have with me soldiers of Allah against whom you have no power, so what happened to others will happen to you.
