Then the group dispersed, and each went to his army. The Nayer raged and stirred, and they knew that the state must have a sultan to manage their affairs and unite their word. The sons of Sultan Ahmad Bakr al-Din were the brothers of the deceased, sitting with their followers and their followers separately, and the subjects separately. So a group of the wise rose up and called the Qadi and the scholars and sent them to the sons of Sultan Bakr, because they were the eldest and the heirs of their father. They said to them, after greetings, know that this emir must have a sultan to unite the people and manage their affairs, and the kingdom is yours, and you are its gatekeepers. So appoint for us a sultan whom we and you are pleased with. So the scholars and the Qadi went and informed them of that. They said, "We have appointed our brother Rizq for them, because he is the eldest and our master, and we are under his command and obedience." So the scholars went to the sons of the young sultans and informed them that Rizq would be their sultan. They refused and said, "Rizq is our honor and our father, but we do not want him to rule over us because he is difficult to deal with, and he has a harshness that we fear its consequences, especially since we are young children. We want a lenient sultan who will raise us. If anything happens from one of us, he will be the first to respond."
