Then my father said: "If God wills, you can return to your country and see your family with your own eyes." He said: "That will happen if God wills." So my father said to him: "When?" He said: "I am going to Cairo now to sell what I have of the goods and return to Sinnar. And take my children with you to Cairo. And you two will go for Hajj and return to Cairo. Then you will meet there. And whoever arrives before his companion, wait for him there." Then he bid them farewell, and each of them went on his way, according to the poet's saying: "My safety was not complete, It was not finished until my safety began." So my father and his brother went for Hajj, and my grandfather went to al-Hurusa. As for my grandfather, he sold his companion, went shopping, and returned to Sinnar. As for my father and his brother, they went to the Hijaz and stayed in al-Ta'ino until the time of Hajj came. They performed Hajj in Mecca and returned after completing the Hajj. His brother died in the noble city of Mecca and was buried at the gate of al-Mahalla. Then my father returned to Cairo and found his father waiting for him. He stayed waiting for him for a period, but he did not come.
