source of reverence and sanctity for him as well. Al-Hasan connected with his father's disciples and worked to renew the old ties between them. He found great acceptance and unlimited responsiveness from the Sudanese towards him, to the extent that Ibn Idris Al-Riyati said, while describing the followers of Sayyid Al-Hasan and his disciples: "Then the aforementioned teacher, Muhammad Al-Hasan, proceeded to Al-Mairakhi in Basar, accompanied by crowds of Al-Dhalfa' and the brothers, beyond counting. He revived the Tariqa, strengthened it, and established its pillar. People flocked to see him and to take the Tariqa from him from all directions, to the extent that when he traveled, seventy to eighty banners followed him, each banner representing a successor from the successors, and many people followed them."
It can be said that Sayyid Al-Hasan presented the foundations of the Tariqa as greater and more magnificent than those laid by his father. Although Sayyid Muhammad Othman (Al-Khatim) laid the initial building blocks of the magnificent Khatmiyya edifice, Al-Hasan completed this building and perfected its completion. He is the one who reached - as is known in Sudan - the stage that Sayyid Muhammad Othman Al-Khatim took his first steps in, and Sayyid Al-Hasan followed him for many more stages.
His son, Sayyid Muhammad Othman (known as Al-Atrib), succeeded him. Sayyid Al-Hasan Al-Mairaghi passed away in November 1932. He was born on March 4, 1856. His mother was one of the granddaughters of Sheikh Khujali. Despite the existence of an older brother of Sayyid Muhammad Othman II, Sayyid Ahmed bin Sayyid Muhammad Al-Hasan, Muhammad Othman succeeded his father, who always believed that his son Muhammad Othman followed in the footsteps of Muhammad Othman the Great and walked in his manner. Muhammad Othman II faced great difficulties after his father's death. These difficulties included the government's قطع of the aid it used to provide to religious families due to the deteriorating economic conditions in Sudan at that time.
Foul believes that a number of personalities from the Al-Marghani family, who live outside Sudan, played active roles in following the affairs of the Khatmiyya within Sudan. One of these personalities is Sayyid Muhammad Othman, head of the Tariqa branch in Egypt, and son of Sayyid Muhammad Sir Al-Khatim, son of Sayyid Muhammad Othman Al-Khatim II. Muhammad Sir Al-Khatim II, commonly known as Muhammad Al-Mairaghi to distinguish him from his father who bore the same name, granted permission to successors in the regions of Al-Sikot, Al-Mahas, and Al-Sha'iqiyya. Among those who participated in managing and administering the affairs of the Tariqa was also Sayyid Bakri bin Sayyid Ja'far bin Sayyid Muhammad Othman Al-Khatim.
There is an interesting opinion regarding his being called Abu Jallabiya: it is said that he wore nothing but the jallabiya or a special type of jallabiya unknown to the Sudanese who wore the thobe and the short jallabiya (Al-Iraqi), or because his jallabiya emitted light in the darkness, as is also narrated (Interview with Khalifa Muhammad Thor Al-Badawi).

Sayyid Ja'far bin Sayyid Muhammad Othman (Al-Khatim) had visited Sudan earlier in 1923 and spent about two years, during which he met his brother Sayyid Muhammad Al-Hasan Al-Mairaghi, then returned to Hijaz. He passed away in Mecca (see Al-Ibana Al-Thawriyya regarding the owner of the Khatmiyya Tariqa, p. 72).
