Truly, the proud refuse to worship, submit, and humble themselves for what is with the Everlasting God. And whoever's inner self is filled with the love of status and the gifts and positions that come from others besides God, will be drawn to that and will stop and divert a group of people from the true religion. This was the practice of the priests and monks who used to recognize the Messenger of God, peace be upon him, and seek his favor. When they found what they recognized, they disbelieved in him out of fear of losing status and positions among people and the gifts and favors that came to them. This is the enjoyment of the worldly life, and that is not salvation with God, nor does a servant find protection when meeting God. God Almighty says: "It shall not be your wishes, nor the wishes of the People of the Book. Whoever does evil will be recompensed for it, and he will not find for himself, besides God, a protector or a helper." And He says: "And what will his wealth avail him when he perishes?" And to that effect. And you, our beloved, are not among those whose religion is on the verge of collapse, so if good befalls them, they are content with it, and if a trial befalls them, they turn back on their faces. Rather, you are among those who seek God's pleasure.

Even if you are torn limb from limb and all precious desires elude you, you know the greatness of God, His blessings, and the severity of His punishment for those who fall into it. All of this you are aware of. And your concern is to guide whoever comes to you in this way, so act accordingly and make clear the consequence of your actions. For there is no escape for you from the righteousness of your soul and the acquisition of what is with God. And you are among the greatest who accept advice with humility to God, who created and gave life, and to Him is the return. And among the most distinguished believers who listen to the saying and follow the best of it. When this answer of mine reaches you, then you and those with you among the beloved companions should migrate, without considering any relationship. Or, you should besiege the Turks in your region and fight those who are deceived by the adornments of this world. We are not pleased with you except by these two matters. If you do one of them, we will be pleased with you, otherwise not. And you know that no one moves without God, so do not fear the enemies of God, whom God controls with His hand. And implement God's command concerning them. And they will be tested by God for you to purify your faith and be close to the Most Merciful. Until when will you flee from God's test, in which there is honor and glory for you? And God Almighty says: "Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while such as those who passed before you have not yet come to you? They were afflicted with suffering and hardship and were shaken."

And how can someone like you rely on comfort and the luxury of the affluent in the land of the oppressors? So, rouse your spirit and strengthen your resolve with God, and strive with all your might in what pleases Him. I have reminded you of this in compliance with the command of God Almighty, saying: "And remind, for remembrance benefits the believers." This is if you rely on God and anticipate the jihad and siege there, then unite with Uthman Diqna and all the emirs present there. Do not disobey Uthman Diqna in anything, and do not start anew from that. For your status with us is known, and you are among the foremost in preferring what is with God and desiring the vast degrees of the hereafter, for your information.
