Introduction Just as everything has signs indicating its approaching time, such as the signs of the birth of the Messenger of Allah, the signs of the appearance of the Antichrist, and the signs of the descent of Jesus the Messiah, there are also signs in the matter of the Mahdi. The signs are divided according to the strength of the hadiths and texts: authentic and good hadiths and texts. They are also divided by type: cosmic signs, signs in Yemen, signs in Egypt, signs in Iraq, and signs in the Hijaz. And so on. They are divided by their occurrence: signs that have occurred, and signs that have not yet occurred. The explanation is long, and the narration here will be by type with a very simple clarification, for the sake of brevity, so as not to bore the reader.

Note: Any text with a weak chain of narration that has occurred, reality has corrected it, so I will mention it despite its weak chain, because Allah Almighty has argued with the people of the Book with what I have from the Torah and the Gospel, despite their distortion, because what remained of them was true until the coming of the Messenger of Allah. So how about a text with only a weak chain of narration?! As for what will come later, I will suffice with authentic and good chains of narration only, because it is what is relied upon by all Muslims, to avoid some objections and comments.

1. Signs of the Muslims in General: People saying "No Mahdi": From Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them, he said: "Allah Almighty will send the Mahdi after Jesus, until people say: 'There is no Mahdi.'" (Nu'aim) This has been realized, and many Muslims have said so.

Many Liars: The Messenger of Allah said: "The Hour will not come until the Mahdi comes from my offspring, and he will not come until sixty liars emerge." (Kitab Al-'Uqad Al-Durr by Al-Maqdisi) This has been realized, and in other narrations, the numbers vary. The Arabic here combines them without contradicting each other.

Succession of Trials for Muslims: From Abu Al-Khalid, he said: "A trial will come, followed by another. The first will be like a whip, followed by the sword. Then a trial will come in which all forbidden things will be made lawful. Then the Ummah will gather on two groups, and one group will be in their homes." (Kitab Al-'Uqad by Al-Maqdisi) Here is a statement that has occurred and continues to occur, in the abundance of trials that afflict the Ummah, in which everything has been made lawful: wealth, life, honor, and homes. This has been realized.

Severe Trials that will afflict Muslims and leave no house in the Arabs untouched: The Messenger of Allah said: "After me, there will be trials, including the trial of the cushions, in which there will be war and fighting. Then after that, a trial more severe than it. Whenever it is said that it has ended, it continues, until no house in the Arabs remains untouched, and no Muslim remains unaffected, until a man from the 'Atiq emerges." (Kitab Al-'Uqad by Al-Maqdisi) And some of the trials were named by the Messenger of Allah as "cushions," which is a metaphor for the continuation of this matter. This is because the cushion is the place of the home, or the lowest place in it. Some scholars have applied "cushions" to democracy and party politics and the disagreements that resulted from them. Others said it is the trial and the corruption it caused. Others said it is racism. This has been realized.

Fighting the Prophetic Sunnah: From the Prophet, peace be upon him, he said: "He is a man from the 'Atiq, fighting for my Sunnah as I fought for revelation." (Nu'aim) This has been realized.

Fighting Allah's Law and Calling to It: From Ali, peace be upon him, that he said: "The earth will be filled with injustice and tyranny, until no one says: 'Allah,' except in secret. Then Allah will bring a righteous people who will establish justice and fairness as it was filled with injustice and tyranny." (Busharat Al-Islam by Al-Kazimi) This indicates that Allah's law will be fought in the land, and it is not enough to just utter the name of Allah. It also indicates that it is from injustice and tyranny that no one dares to speak the truth. And the truth is Allah and His will on earth and in the heavens. This has been realized.

Open Disbelief in Allah: From Matar Al-Waraq, he said: "The Mahdi will not emerge until there is open disbelief in Allah." (Nu'aim) This has been realized.
