And God continued to support them with victory from Him, and He destroyed all their soldiers who were in Sudan at my hands, and He avenged them, and all who saw it witnessed it when God killed them. This was nothing but a manifestation of their disbelief and their veneration of their idols. There is no doubt that all of this has reached you and been transmitted to you by those who have arrived. And you are turning away from what is right, and you are clinging to the fleeting things of this world, even though you know that God has condemned this life in all His heavenly books, and especially in the Quran, where He says: "Know that the life of this world is but a play and a diversion, and an adornment, and a boasting among yourselves, and a rivalry in wealth and children, like the rain whose vegetation pleases the disbelievers, then it dries up and turns yellow, then it becomes debris. And in the Hereafter is a severe punishment and forgiveness from God and pleasure. And the life of this world is nothing but a enjoyment of delusion." And His saying, "And this life of this world is not but amusement and play, and indeed the abode of the Hereafter is the [true] life, if only they knew." And the great reward that He has prepared for His believing servants, and the blessings He has bestowed upon them therein, which no eye has seen, nor ear has heard, nor has it occurred to the heart of any human being. And He called them to it, saying: "And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and to a garden as wide as the heavens and the earth, prepared for the righteous." And we have made clear to you the insignificance of this fleeting world and the greatness of that eternal abode. So turn away from this fleeting and insignificant thing, and hasten to obtain that precious eternal abode. And it is not hidden from you what has happened from your shortcomings in obeying God and waiting for the downfall of God's party by inclining to love and support of God's enemies. Nevertheless, we have called you in all that has happened to you, and you have hastened to answer our call and to join our ranks, as soon as this letter of ours reaches you. And do not say to yourselves except what Joseph, peace be upon him, said to his brothers: "No reproach upon you today. May God forgive you, and He is the Most Merciful of the merciful." And let it be known to you.
