The Sultan has cast him out, and established the elite of literary culture, and humbled him to rule with justice. He is to be envied, finding no solace but in slander, no satisfaction but in spreading rumors, and finding rest only in wishes, and companionship only with every rumor-monger, liar, deluded doubter, and greedy person devoid of good, and a dissenter who has no wealth. He wishes to equal the capable and be raised above the protectors, for the sake of his predecessor and the good deeds of others, and he is not one who distinguishes between the old and the new, nor cares about the lessons of honor, nor differentiates between the reward of the diligent and the share of the well-doers. How can one who does not know the ranks of truth in its levels, nor distinguish between the ranks of falsehood in its positions, know the difference between the right of protection and the reward of sufficiency? Then you informed me that you yourself began to exalt your Imam and preserve the merits of your Caliph's supporters, and with them you have fortified your defenses, for their sake and in defense of your followers. You are indeed a good helper, God willing, in adhering to obedience, supporting good, and being steadfast with the people of truth. And I have inferred from what I see of your strong care, excessive concern, and investigation of the enemies' intelligence and your search for the merits of the saints, that what has appeared of your sincerity is little compared to what is hidden of your devotion. May God grant your Caliph long life through you, and grant us and you His love, and protect us from accepting falsehood and seeking closeness through error. He is worthy of praise, glorious, and does what He wills. You mentioned, may God preserve you, that you sat with various groups of the Caliphate's soldiers, and a gathering of the sons of the call, and elders from the tribes.
