The new ruler did not know about the son of Yaseh, and there was a good ruler named Ar, and some people followed him. When this reached him, he sent one of them to him to complain about it. He replied with excuses and justifications, but they were not satisfied. He then dealt with the companions of the ruler and was very generous. This was in the month of Sha'ban in the year 33 and 1000. When we arrived in Egypt, I stayed with my family near the mother. The affairs of this country were entrusted to the presence. So I handed them over to him and sent a letter from myself to the presence, apologizing for not appearing before him. He honored me with a decree for the officials, which included respecting the subjects and their desires, and justice for those who asked for it, and the officials obeyed me. My place was secure, as it reached the land of so-and-so without change or delay. May God reward us well. I spent the month of Ramadan in the city. The governor of the city, who was selling dates, was trying to sell them. I told him that this was not permissible by the religion of God, nor by the command of the Commander of the Faithful, who is guided by God. He read to him the letter of the Commander of the Faithful, and among the important things was the mention of respecting the creatures and honoring the ruler. So I sent for the elders and gave them the price of what they had bought the dates for, and they left. I went to the presence, and when I stood before him and told him what had happened, he ordered that he be brought back immediately. So he was brought back with honor until the month of Dhu al-Qi'dah. A group of them, including Ahmad, known as Ibn al-Rabih, and some of the Banu 'Alwan, gathered to break the allegiance. The time was known, and it was Ibn al-Rabih and those with him who entered upon al-Hallaj, Sha'ban, and killed him and his companions. They were in the city, betraying the Commander of the Faithful. And God scattered their gathering and turned their plots against them. They were captured and killed, and Ibn al-Rabih fled to the Jabal al-Mahamid. The Commander of the Faithful mobilized the tribes and the Banu al-Rabih with the Arabs of al-Mahamid until the year 35 and 1000. Their Arabs went out to the land of Sirr and expelled its people by force and took much booty. Ibrahim, the son of the ruler of the mountain, had been appointed to succeed his murdered brother. May God have mercy on him with His kindness. He joined the road to the land of Sirr, and captured them, and among them was Ibn al-Rabih, who joined some of the Arabs. He was captured and brought before the presence. He was killed, as he deserved. The affairs of the state were managed, and by His grace, the caravans traveled east and west. Poets and people sought him out, and he gave great gifts that no one had given before. He intended to reward those who had helped him, such as Ahmad Bey al-Mu'assir, Ahmad Bey al-Saghir, and 'Ammu Bey. When they left the country, they were safe and secure. He established a great kingdom and sent good meat to the warriors. When al-Hallaj arrived at Nahrwan, accompanied by Muhammad Jarkas, he was informed of the news. He said, "We are in need of a ruler." He had no one to help him. He learned of the rebellion of the people of al-Tirayli and their proximity to the city of al-Azhar in Sirr. He went to discuss the matter of the Commander of the Faithful and was met with a response that was not what he expected. He was met with opposition and insults. When he returned, the Kahibiyyah met him with many gifts and abundant favors. And when he arrived at the presence.
