-18- We came, and the prayer was not completed. My uncle Baraka, a young man, entered the presence of Al-Zein from his beard to his head. And miracles appeared to him, including that Sheikh Qadoura, son of Othman, killed the king's messengers. He was afraid of him and said to Sheikh Al-Zein and Sheikh Hassan, son of Hassouna, "Go, my uncle, to the king and appease him, for they threatened him with pursuit." And they did not pursue him. When he entered the king's courtyard, he saw Sheikh Al-Zein carrying his belongings, walking with confidence. He saw a lioness resting near the acacia tree. He reached the diwan and greeted the king. When the king wanted to speak harshly to him, he said, "I am excused from it." When he left the king's courtyard, he said to Qadi Dhiab, "Where did Sheikh Al-Zein stay?" He told him, "Sheikh Al-Zein did not come to you; you are mistaken about him, and he was present." When he left the village, he said, "I saw Sheikh Al-Zein, but I did not see Sheikh Hassan." Then Sheikh Hassan said, "Tell him that the lioness resting is Othman, your mother's husband." Sheikh Al-Zein passed away in the year eighty-six after a thousand. Sheikh Muhammad, son of Hadawi, eulogized him with verses in which he extended his praise, saying:
For you, men of status and knowledge, by your knowledge, are named like the shining stars. Until sunset, your knowledge encompassed Islam, the land of the righteous, and all the cattle on earth. You spread knowledge far and wide, known to all regions, the people of the sea, and the pure. O eye, weep for the teacher, do not spare, and let tears flow abundantly, like rain. Who will be for the students after you, O their people, with ease and joy, without hardship? The Imam departed for the sake of piety, fearing it, the land of sunset and the land of the east, O the poor. The son of the deceased, who dedicates himself to knowledge and takes the strongest from the famous concise one. The mosques of the earth on the day of death are awake, weeping for the Imam, saying, "Where is Al-Zein, where do you see?" After hearing this, our land was completed. After hearing this, the place and wherever it was, it was not built. After him, there was no relief for people. Our time is filled with ignorance and deception. Who among creation is like him, a sheikh resembling him, who spread the sciences to all people? And the affairs of religion whispered to me, "Where do we find a sheikh who will be covered in spreading knowledge?" The stars and the suns were eclipsed, weeping for the time of the sheikh, concisely. If God had revealed to His creation, they would have seen one worthy of leading them, present for teaching. Al-Zein witnessed it and received his year's end, which was ten.
