And peace be upon him every night, or with ten or twenty, not far from him, whom God has granted that. And Sheikh Khujali and Al-Madq said that the highest degree of Sheikh is not to be a fool, but God granted me that. One day I was in seclusion and my soul left my body, then the sky was torn open for me with a paper written on it: "Peace, a word from a merciful Lord," to Khujali. And Al-Faqih Sharif bin Al-Faqih Ma'dar told me: "The first thing that happened to me was a revelation, so Sheikh Khujali entered and understood me in his seclusion, and said: 'A poor man from Hajj came to me and said: The Messenger, peace be upon him, sends you greetings, and the sky was close.'" Then he returned to his former state. He said: "I prayed two rak'ahs and slept, then a righteous man came to me and said: 'The sky being close to you means your certainty is weak. When your certainty is strong, the sky will be far from you, and you say: The poor man, the Messenger sends you greetings.' This is included in the Almighty's saying to the Messenger, peace be upon him, on the night of the Ascension: (1) Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi. "Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of God and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of God." And you are in Alexandria, one of the righteous servants of God. And look at this story, what Sheikh Ibn Ata Allah mentioned in his book, "Latā'if al-Minan fi Manāqib al-Sheikh Abi al-Abbas al-Mursi" (1), and his spiritual guide Sheikh Abi al-Hasan (2) al-Shadhili, buried in Alexandria. (2) Al-Shadhili was told that Al-Harith bin Asad al-Muhasibi, in Hajar al-Azab on the sea, said: "God created a redness in my finger that moves when I am given food that is doubtful." And Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, may God be pleased with him, (3) was of dark complexion, so much so that (3) he was of dark complexion, so much so that it was said that every hair of his beard seemed to speak, saying: "This is truly a saint of God." And he was revered to such an extent that it was said that the great ones and sultans, when they sat in his presence, were like children due to his awe. And the reason for his status was a prayer from his mother, who cherished him. She had some women visit her, and she asked for a sheep to slaughter for them. She found it, and he informed her of what she had requested for the mentioned women and the lack of it. He was so young that he was concerned about the matter and left. When she saw this from him, she prayed for him, saying: "I implore God to grant you what He granted to Idris the Prophet in terms of sainthood and the greatness of his status." Her skin shivered at the prayer, and she got what she asked for from God for her son, and God fulfilled it.
