And judgment and knowledge were more dominant in him than narration. He used to say, "I heard someone say to me, 'O Dawud, I have made you a vicegerent on earth, so judge between people with justice.' " From that time, the first thing they asked me about a matter, it appeared to me like the sun. Among those who took the Risala from him were the learned scholar Al-Faqih Hassan Al-Takawi, the renowned scholar and his cousin Al-Faqih Hussein bin Khaytir, Muhammad Nasr Al-Kabushabi, Al-Haj Sayyid Zumr, Al-Faqih Muhammad bin Qasim Allah, Al-Faqih Muhammad bin Al-Haj Muhammad Noor, Khalifa Al-Haj Khujli, and many others. He was a learned, pious, ascetic scholar, who kept away from power. He was buried in the Al-Halfaya cemetery, and his grave is visible and visited. He was eighty years old and more. He had sons: Al-Faqih Muhammad, Al-Faqih Ahmed, and Abd al-Rahman, who were righteous, virtuous scholars. And Hamad Al-Sayyid bin Ahmed, his son, was like his grandfather, and Zurouq bin Al-Faqih Muhammad, his son, was like his father in knowledge and piety.

Hamad bin Al-Majdhoub memorized the Quran under Al-Faqih Hamad bin Al-Faqihsa Abd al-Majid, and studied Fiqh in Khalil and the Risala under Al-Faqih Madani bin Muhammad and Ali Al-Fazari. He dedicated himself to teaching in all branches of knowledge, issuing fatwas and judgments, and to the spiritual path of the righteous. He was a marvel of marvels in asceticism, remembrance, adherence to "Dalail al-Khayrat" (Guide to Good Deeds), and attending to the needs of those devoted to Allah. Allah granted him complete acceptance among the elite and the common people. He was often an intercessor with kings and sultans, and his intercession was never refused. Whoever refused him was quickly afflicted. His description was that he was dark-skinned, of medium height, tending towards tall, with a large beard, so much so that each hair seemed to speak and say, "This is truly a saint of Allah." He was one who combined knowledge and action with Sufism. May Allah be pleased with him. He passed away in the year ninety after one thousand and two hundred, at the age of eighty-five. His grave is in Al-Damer (2), visible and visited, radiating light and dignity. His son, the Khalifa, was like him in knowledge, religion, and attending to the needs of Muslims.

Hassan bin Abd al-Rahman bin Saleh was born in Al-Thala on Ashura in the year fifty-nine after one thousand and one hundred, according to what was heard from his son. He read the Quran under Al-Faqih Hamad bin Abu Ras, and Fiqh under Al-Faqih Bashir and Al-Faqih Maqbool bin Al-Faqih Othman, the scholar. He read the Risala under Al-Faqih Abd al-Hadi bin Ismail, and the creeds and Al-Sanusiyyah under Al-Faqih Ismail bin Al-Faqih Al-Zein and Al-Faqih Muhammad Al-Hafi. He read Alfiyyah Ibn Malik under Al-Faqih Hamad bin Al-Faqih Nawawi, a student of Al-Faqih Hassan Naskikira, and Al-Faqih Ahmed bin Issa Al-Ansari (3), and Al-Faqih Abd al-Qadir bin Al-Tuwaym. He sought permission to write... (M - 10 - Tabaqat) (1) Al-Darawi is attributed to the town of Dar in Upper Egypt. And knowledge is with Allah. (2) Al-Damer is a town north of Khartoum on the right bank of the Nile, the seat of the Berber province, with a Sharia court. It contains the graves of many righteous Majadhib. (3) It is likely the owner of the Masid of Ibn Issa, south and east of Khartoum in the Kamilin district. And Al-Faqih Ahmed bin Issa, a student of the Qutb Al-Dardir, may Allah be pleased with them both, is buried in Sennar. And Allah knows best.
