O people, whoever believes in God and the Last Day, let him stand in his place. If you say extravagance, what is your opinion about a man whose expenses for his family are three dirhams, is it not enough for him to spend ten? If you say burnt, what about tobacco, which is burnt and permissible to drink with it?' The scholar said to him, 'If you dispute about something, then refer it to God and the Messenger.' God is sufficient for His Messenger, peace be upon him. Let us invoke God in His saying: (So whoever disputes with you in this after knowledge has come to you, then say, 'Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves, then we will supplicate and make the curse of God upon the liars.')
