Corrections to List of Languages.
The name by which these people call themselves is Luo. The correct name is Bor; by the Zande this tribe is called Ambaridi. A monosyllabic language with a fully developed system of tones, of a type similar to Madi; Baré and Biri are dialects of Ndogo, but Shaire and Faroghe are distinct. Most of the Faroghe speak Arabic. Ndiri and Mangaiya remain unidentified.
Also known as Mandabba. The “Jur” of Rumbek District call themselves Aluo. They are distinct from the “Jur” (Luo) referred to under number 4 -(Shilluk, etc.), and were found unable to understand Luo. Speak Zande. In North-West of Meridi District there is a small tribe (150) called Banga with a language of its own.
