It began with the phrase "Know, may God guide us and you." This opening became its hallmark. It was given this name at a later period than the era of Al-Mahdi and Abd Al-Mumin. This is because when Abd Al-Mumin issued a decree ordering the general public to memorize and understand this creed, he identified it by saying: "The creed whose beginning is: Know, may God guide us and you." It seems it became known by this name in a later period when it was widely circulated among people, necessitating the creation of a designation to identify it.

This creed was eloquently formulated, and it presented issues related to belief in God Almighty in His essence and attributes, without touching upon anything from the unseen, or anything related to the Imamate. These issues were arranged as follows: the oneness of God, His absolute creatorship, the submission of creation to Him, His eternal existence, His transcendence of place and time, His transcendence of likeness and equal, His self-sufficiency, His all-encompassing knowledge, His power, His will, His independence and might, His perpetuity, His absolute will, His justice and grace, His hearing and sight. It is noted that some issues were repeated more than once. We present below the full text of this creed.

Know, may God guide us and you, that it is incumbent upon every accountable person to know that God, the Mighty and Majestic, exists in His dominion. He created the entire universe, the heavens and the earth, the Throne and the Footstool, the skies and the earth, and all that is in them and between them. All creation is subdued by His power; not an atom moves except by His permission. He existed before creation; He has no before or after, no above or below, no right or left, no front or back, no whole or part. He is not defined in the mind, nor is He represented in the eye. He is not conceived in imagination, nor is He shaped by the intellect. Illusions and thoughts do not reach Him. There is nothing like Him, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing. There is no co-director with Him in creation, nor does He have a partner in dominion. He is Ever-Living, the Sustainer. Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. He is the Knower of the unseen and the seen. Nothing is hidden from Him on earth or in the heavens. He knows what is on land and in the sea. Not a leaf falls but He knows it, nor a grain in the darkness of the earth, nor anything moist or dry, but it is in His clear record. (See previous: 162) 408
