As for the difficulties related to the subject of the research itself, they are represented first by what is mentioned in
The personality and biography of Ibn Tumart, with extreme contradictions among the early and late scholars, between exaggeration
in elevating his status. And between exaggeration in denigrating him. This caused the truth of his matter to be lost in many
times, it bewilders him and it is difficult to find the truth and follow the path of
justice amidst this contradiction.
Secondly, it is represented by the nature of the presentation with which the Mahdi presented his ideas. In many of his
books and epistles, he was not the author who expounded his ideas in an organized and comprehensive manner. Rather, he was
the preacher who presented his ideas without order or verification, which necessitated us to gather parts of the same idea from
distant and different sources, trying to construct a true picture of it. Often, we face a lack of elements of the idea in this regard, so we resort to estimation, and contradictions between
its parts.
We resort to
reconciliation.
This is despite the effort we have made in this research to clarify the personality of the Mahdi,
his ideas, and his impact in the Maghreb, which has led us to results that we consider useful within the framework of scientific research on theological and jurisprudential thought in the Maghreb. And within the framework of revealing the truth of the integration between religious knowledge,
creed and law. And between political and social life in
Islamic society. However, these
results remain in need of review, development, and completion in light of new data
and documents, and any shortcomings and errors discovered in them. Whoever comes across them is obliged to guide us
to the right path in them, in service of knowledge, and in submission to God's command to advise each other with truth.
We ask God to count this work among righteous deeds, and to reward us with the best reward.
He is the one who answers prayers.
