The Quran came as a confirmation of what was before it from the Book and in agreement with it, not in contradiction to it. Therefore, Allah said: "Indeed, this is in the former scriptures, the scriptures of Abraham and Moses." And Allah said: "We have sent down to you the Book, O Muhammad, truthfully, confirming what was before it of the Book." And Allah said: "And indeed, it is in the first scriptures."

And what was said about the fact that it is not like what came from the priests and the monks - Islam says - is not entirely false; rather, it is said here that the narrators are not necessarily liars, but rather they mean that what they narrate should not be considered lies and fables; therefore, the Prophet said: "Narrate from the Children of Israel, and there is no harm." And he also said: "When they narrate to you from the Book, do not confirm them and do not deny them." Ibn Taymiyyah said: "It is permissible to narrate from them, and despite that, he forbade confirming them and denying them, so it was not but to confirm them."
