The decisive statement regarding the Imam Al-Mahdi affair.

| The decisive statement regarding the Imam Al-Mahdi affair.

| 54 | "And He said, Exalted is He: 'Do you then wish that you should ask your Messenger as Moses was asked before?'" (2:87) And He said, Exalted is He: "And when there came to them a Book from Allah, confirming what was with them, and before they had been seeking victory over those who disbelieved, yet when there came to them that which they recognized, they disbelieved in it. So let the curse of Allah be upon the disbelievers." (2:89) And with all that, Abu Jahl argued against it with the knowledge of the Books, and informed that its knowledge was not from the knowledge of its sons. And this knowledge was not derived from the Books of the learned, for its chains of transmission were broken, and its end and beginning were lost. But when the truth came, Abu Jahl argued against it, and did not act according to its requirements. He said, Exalted is He: "And when there came to them a Book from Allah, confirming what was with them, and before they had been seeking victory over those who disbelieved, yet when there came to them that which they recognized, they disbelieved in it. So let the curse of Allah be upon the disbelievers." (2:89) And with this knowledge, they rejected his message and the judgment between him and the disbelievers of Quraysh.

So He said, Exalted is He: "Does it not suffice them that We have sent down to you the Book which is recited to them?" (29:51) And He said, Exalted is He: "And those who disbelieve say, 'You are not a messenger.' Say: 'Sufficient is Allah as Witness between me and you, and he who has knowledge of the Book.'" (13:43) And He said, Exalted is He: "Say: 'Have you considered if it is from Allah and you disbelieve in it, and a witness from the Children of Israel testified to the like of it and believed, while you were arrogant?' Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people." (46:10) And he sent to the disbelievers of Quraysh to ask the Jews about the news of the prophets. So He said, Exalted is He: "And We did not send before you, [O Muhammad], except men to whom We revealed. So ask the people of theذكر [remembrance] if you do not know. (7) And We did not make them [the prophets] bodies that did not eat food, nor were they immortal. (8)" (21:7-8) Ibn Kathir said: "Ask the people of the Book..." meaning the Jews and Christians and all other sects. "The Messenger whom We sent before you..." meaning the prophets who came with good news.
