As for the narration of Mu'awiya bin Ishaq, Abu Dharr said: I went to Mecca and became weak from it. So I said: Where is this one whom the Caliph calls? He pointed to the Caliph and said: The Caliph admonished me and lectured me until I fell unconscious. He said: When I woke up, I went to Zamzam and drank from its water. I stayed there for thirty years, and I did not find anyone who could quench my thirst with its water. He said: When I was in Mecca, I saw two lions, one of them was licking its paws, and the other was with two women, calling them Isaf and Na'ila. He said: They came to him and said: Marry one of us to the other. He said: So we moved away from their vicinity. He said: Then they came to us and said: Here is a young man, where do you want him to be? So they took him and he was with them, and no one from the Ansar was with them. He said: So the Messenger of God, Abu Bakr, and I went to him. He said: What is wrong with you? They said: The Caliph is between the Ka'bah and our coverings. He said: What did he say to you? They said: He said to us, "May God curse the idolaters." The Messenger of God, peace be upon him, came until he stood in prayer, and when he finished his prayer, Abu Dharr said: I was the first to greet him with the greeting of Islam. He said: So I said: Peace be upon you, O Messenger of God. He said: And upon you be peace and the mercy of God. Then he said: Who are you? He said: I am from the Ansar. He said: So he extended his hand and put his fingers on my neck, and I felt my heart beating. I wished that I had died before I came to the Ansar. Then he raised his head. Then he said: When were you here? I said: I have been here for thirty years. He said: Where did you get your sustenance? I said: I did not get anything except the water of Zamzam. I stayed there until I was satiated, and I did not find anyone who could quench my thirst with its water. He said: It is a blessing, it is a blessing. Then Abu Bakr said: O Messenger of God, give me some of the food of the Ansar. So the Messenger of God, Abu Bakr, and I went with him, and Abu Bakr opened a door, and we saw a basket of dried grapes, and that was the first time I ate. This is the narration of Mu'awiya. The narration of Al-Hafari indicates that the meeting of Abu Dharr with the Imam was after the Imam hosted him for three days, and the narration of Mu'awiya indicates that Abu Dharr met the Messenger of God after the two idols, Isaf and Na'ila, were cursed, and the narration does not mention any role or hosting by the Imam for him.
