Rather, he ordered that I be arrested and that shackles be placed around my neck and that I be confined. It was by the grace of God Almighty that your father was present at the council, so no one could conceal anything from him to intercede for me. When he saw my father, he stepped forward and mentioned hadith about pardoning the offender and recited the verse: "O you who have believed, if there comes to you a wicked person with news, investigate." Then he interceded for me, and the Sultan accepted his intercession and ordered my release. After that, my brilliance appeared. But if God had not prevented me at that hour, my life and all my possessions would have been lost. What mountain is greater than this, or what deed is greater than this? Despite all this, your father was wicked in what he did to me. I had long been waiting for an opportunity to do him a favor, but it was not until this service that I was able to do so.
