What is in me, rather, I am overwhelmed by the embers of pain and its vessels of silt and vessels that I need. As for the pain, it is due to two things. Long has been the sleeplessness. I entered upon him and said to him, "Where shall I sleep?" He called one of the slaves and said to him, "I see his embers." He took me and led me into a room where I saw a bed, bedding, vessels, and indeed all that I needed. I spent the most pleasant night. When morning came, I put on my clothes and entered upon him. I found him sitting in great splendor among his servants, concubines, and children. He was a horseman. He was not a Muslim, so he was pleased with me and honored me. I kissed his hand and sat with him. Then he said to me, "My nephew, Sayyid Ahmad al-Saghir, has prepared a feast today. It would please me if you would go to him and grace his assembly with your presence. If you feel energetic and wish to gladden his heart, that is up to you. I do not wish to impose upon you." I said, "I hear and obey, but I do not know his dwelling." He ordered one of his servants to show me his dwelling. I went and attended his hospitality. He received me greatly and welcomed me. It was a great day. Then all the people of the caravan began to hold feasts. They followed one another, and I was invited to every feast and attended it until the turn of a companion came to me, and that was my father. This was because I was a guest of some companions and arrived near evening. I entered the room prepared for me and saw two men in it.
