In the custom of marrying the Foor, since the One, His essence, attributes, and actions are self-sufficient, needing no husband or child, and no one is separate from Him nor does He separate from anyone, as He needs no mention of the poor created being whose only support is God, and no helper, and He is exalted and glorified, He is not overcome by slumber or sleep. He is One, Unique. Muhammad, may God's blessings and peace be upon him, had no companion or child, nor did He share in dominion, nor was there anyone equal to Him. He created Adam, the father of mankind, from dust, and Eve from the shortest rib on the left side, according to the correct view. And it was the secret of creation that he be a vicegerent on earth, and fill the earth and its inhabitants in length and breadth, and the human lineage was written therein, so that procreation might occur, and it was in accordance with the divine will. And Adam was in a year of sleep when Eve was created. And when he awoke, he saw her before him in an orderly arrangement, and she greatly impressed him. And he said to her, "Who are you, O dearest of loved ones?" She said, "I am Eve, and God created me for you, O Adam." And that was decreed from the Most High. He said to her, "Come to me."
