Mouta'a Ali Al-Boushi (1901-1985) and his role in the political, social, religious, and literary life in Sudan

Introduction: This study aims to highlight an aspect of the history of the Sudanese nation by narrating the biography of one of those who dedicated their time and effort and devoted their lives to serving the national cause and the Islamic religion in this country, and contributed effectively and seriously to building the intellectual and revolutionary foundation that helped expel colonialism, and in shaping the Sudanese national consciousness thereafter. The biography of Mouta'a Ali Al-Boushi presents us with a great aspect of all these values. We build our theory here in studying the story of Sheikh Mudathir Al-Boushi and examining his struggle and life, on a historical basis and according to a very important intellectual approach. We believe that Mudathir Al-Boushi, based on what we have obtained from written works and government reports from the days of the British government, after his active attempts to move against the colonizer, represents the first movements with an impact and dimension that are based on a clear Islamic civilizational value. The man did not witness the spread of corruption in Gordon College – he began his movement in Gordon College – and he knew the injustice that was widespread as a result of the British government's policies, even though other motives occupied his mind, and other desires moved his heart, and great matters filled him with hope, and pushed his resolve to raise his voice, by returning to Islam according to a concept that is not based on a sect.
