Appendix No. (1) In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. With His help, we begin and conclude. May Allah bless our master Muhammad, in his essence, his attributes, and his name. (1) Ijaza of Sayyid Ali Al-Mirghani. Praise be to Allah, the Ever-Living, the Self-Subsisting, the Most High, the Most Great, alone. And prayers and peace be upon the Opener and the Sealer, who has no prophet or messenger besides him. And thereafter, the humble servant of his Rich Lord, Ali Mirghani, who hopes for the most sweet bounty from his Lord, says: I have granted ijaza to my truest brother and most agreeable beloved, Khalifa Hamed Ahmed Al-Raqqa', and have made him a khalifa in the tariqa of the Great Imam, the master of the noble command, the seal of the people of gnosis, Al-Mirghani Al-Makki, my master Sayyid Muhammad Uthman. May Allah, and him, and all Muslims, bestow upon us the abundant blessings and graces. Amen. I have granted him ijaza in all the dhikr of the pure, luminous Tariqa Al-Khatmiyya, and in all that he is qualified for, such as reciting and teaching the Quran, learning and teaching knowledge, and other religious duties. I have also been granted ijaza in this by my father, my shaykh, and my blessing, Sayyid Muhammad Uthman Mirghani. This is from his father, the Imam, the master of bounty and favors, Sayyid Muhammad Al-Hasan Mirghani. This is from his father, the عارف بالله (gnostic of Allah), the bestower, the seal of the people of gnosis, the aforementioned Sayyid Muhammad Uthman. This is from his master, the Qutb Al-Ghawth, the Unique Assembler, the Ghayb Al-Batil Al-Hami', the عارف بالله (gnostic of Allah), Al-Nafis Abu Muhammad Al-Sharif, Sayyid Ahmad bin Idris. This is from his master, the Qutb Al-Fard Al-Jami', the Ghayb Al-Aatil Al-Hami', Al-Sharif, Sayyid Abdul Aziz, nicknamed Al-Dabbagh. This is from his master, the Servant of the Most Kind, Ali, whom Allah bestowed mercy from Him and taught him from His presence. This is from our master Abu Al-Abbas Al-Khidr, peace be upon him. And from the Lord of Might, Glorified is His Majesty. This, and I advise him to fear Allah in all his breaths and to constantly remember Him, purified from all defects. And not to forget me in his righteous supplications in his solitude and in his gatherings. May Allah bless our master Muhammad and his family and companions, and by the greatness of His Essence. Amen. Ali Mirghani Sudan: Dar Al-Watha'iq Al-Markaziya, Miscellaneous 1/4, 1410 AH / 1990 AD.
