Appendix No. (2) Ijaza of Sayyid Muhammad Othman Al-Khatim. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Seeking assistance, at the beginning and the end, and may Allah bless our Master Muhammad, in essence, description, and name.
Praise be to Allah, who made our chain connected to His chosen one, and all endeavors are according to their ultimate end. And thanks be to Him who made the paths to His presence innumerable. And prayers and peace be upon him who is our support in our affairs, and upon his family and companions, and those who are diligent on the path.
And thereafter, the one known by this kunya, Al-Mustafa Abu Muhammad, and Abdullah, and Zainab, and Muhammad Ja'far, and Muhammad Othman Al-Mirghani Al-Makki Al-Khatim, may Allah bring him to the abode of purity, says: This is a great and general ijaza in the paths of the esoteric and the exoteric, the honorable. So I say, and by Allah and His Messenger, since the chain of transmission is one of the greatest pillars of religion, and the connection of the chain to the Chosen One, peace be upon him, strengthens its structure, this servant wished to record the form of an ijaza that would be for the path of possession. And this is the chain of the path of the people and some of the scholars of the exoteric. And much of it I have left, and I will mention it in another illuminating place.
So I say, the highest of our chains is by the chain of my guiding shaykh, my master, my support, and my refuge, the عارف بالله (gnostic of Allah), the Qutb (pole) of the circle of sainthood, the Ghawth (succor) of the circle of the special, the one whose state is at the highest degree, the imam of my upbringing, Abu Muhammad, the precious youth, our master Al-Sharif Al-Maghbi Ahmad bin Idris, may Allah continue His favor upon him and all my family, and upon him is much dhikr. And he taught me And he gave me its number by the grace of the Great One. And my ijaza is a general ijaza, spoken, in all dhikrs and sciences. And after some travels, some of the brothers requested some of his high-ranking chains. So I sent to him by letter, and he sent to me by decree, and he mentioned in it how much with a beloved chain, and the form of what he wrote after beautiful words: We took the path from the Ghawth of his time and the Imam of his era, the noble shaykh, our master and our patron Abd al-Wahhab Al-Tazi, then Al-Fasi by residence and origin, and he took from the Ghawth of his time and the Imam of his era, the noble Sharif Al-Husayni, our master and our patron Abd al-Aziz, known as Al-Dabbagh Al-Fasi, by residence and origin, and he took from the Shaykh of Shaykhs, the unique scholar, the جمع (gatherer), our master Abu al-Abbas Ahmad Al-Khidr, peace be upon him. And he is the one who taught him the dhikr verbally, without an intermediary. So he served the dhikr that he taught him for five years, and Allah opened for him and joined him to those who are with Him. And Al-Khidr, may Allah have mercy on him, without the intermediary of shaykhdom, but rather by a divine providence from Allah, bestowed upon him, a mercy from Him, and He taught him from
