And he, may God bless him and grant him peace, was the first to respond to God's call and the first to believe in Him. He was the first to obey his Lord, worship Him, and acknowledge Him. He was the first to seek His help.
And indeed, the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was known for his kindness and generosity towards his companions and his family. He would eat with them, and if they invited him to a meal of barley bread, he would accept. He would visit the sick, and he would walk with them to fulfill their needs. No one among his enemies or those who bore him ill will ever called upon him except that he would respond to them, "Here I am." This was due to his humility, noble character, and pleasant companionship, may God bless him and grant him peace.
As for his parents, may God have mercy on them, they were among those who prayed to God Almighty. It is said that God Almighty answered his prayers in matters that were difficult and impossible for others. Among his supplications, as narrated by Qadi Iyad and others, was that God Almighty would accept his prayers.
And so it was with the invitation to Islam. Whoever responded to his call and believed in him and followed him was among the most numerous of his followers compared to any other messenger before him.
And as for his name, may God bless him and grant him peace, it is mentioned in the Holy Quran and the Torah, as narrated by Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-Aas.
And God Almighty said, "Repel evil with that which is better." And the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, "I do not seek revenge for myself. I do not curse anyone. I do not strike anyone with a stick. The only time I would strike with a stick is in the cause of God. And I do not take anything from anyone."
