He is the lamp of all virtue, from whose light the lights are illuminated. He is the lamp of guidance, and guidance means to guide to the right path, and it is the path that leads to the desired goal. It is opposed to misguidance, which is the loss of the path that leads to the desired goal. It can also be transitive, meaning to guide to the path, and it is opposed to misguidance, which means to guide to the opposite. It is testified that the Prophet, peace be upon him, sought guidance, and it is the inherent guidance. Guidance means righteousness and success, which is not found in other sources. The Prophet, peace be upon him, was a guide to those who followed him and those who did not. Whoever followed him was guided and righteous. He sought guidance for them, and he himself was guidance. As for his name, peace be upon him, it is "Mahdi" (the guided), with a damma on the "meem" and a fatha on the "ha". There is an agreement that he is guided. As for the first, it is from "ahda" (to guide), and it is said that God does not misguide whom He guides. The word "ahda" is an active participle, meaning "he who guides". He guided to the Kaaba and other things. The Prophet, peace be upon him, brought them guidance, faith, knowledge of God, and the oneness of God, which is the greatest of all. Ibn al-Gharib, may God have mercy on him, said: "He guided the guided, so he is a beautiful image." Al-Sadd al-Din al-Farghani said in his explanation: "Meaning, from God, He guided His servants with the guidance of guidance, meaning the Prophet, peace be upon him." It is also possible that the "dal" is a passive participle, so the meaning of his name is "guided by God". As for the second, it is apparently a passive participle from "hada" (to guide), which means to guide and to be successful. He is the guided, the righteous, the successful. The Prophet, peace be upon him, is a lamp and a light. "And a light" is an active participle, meaning "he who illuminates". He illuminates himself and illuminates others. His name is also "Nur" (light), so he is a source of light. He is also described as "Munir" (illuminating), meaning his light shines upon him, making him manifest and apparent. The first is inherent, and the second and third are acquired. So, the Prophet, peace be upon him, is a light in himself, the first thing God created, and a light for others, meaning he reveals the insights of the sighted. Light is the means to sight, and with the existence of light, the Prophet, peace be upon him, enables the sighted to see. They seek their sight from the sources of guidance, the manifestations of happiness, and the paths of salvation, and to avoid pitfalls and destruction. And whoever is guided by his insight will be guided by him, because he is among the callers. And he who desires it.
