GEBEL DOSHA ( J_ /wwvA I . This fact shows that the oldest portion of the temple buildings at Kumma dates from the reign of Thothmes I.

Passing southwards, the next place where the name of Thothmes III. is found is on the Island of Sai, which is about eighty miles from Semna. Near the northern end of this island, and to the north of the " Castle of Sai," down on the plain, are the remains of a small temple whereon are found the names of Thothmes II.

the east bank of the Nile. This temple was built under the direction of the famous Nehi, Prince of Kash, whose name was found inscribed on a stone there ; it was a small and quite ordinary building, the exact plan of which it is not now easy to trace, for most of the stones in it have been carried away, probably to serve as material for the " Castle of Sai." Between Sai and Gebel Dosha no monument of Thothmes III. has yet been found, but in the latter place, inside the chamber hewn in the rock, we see on the walls a figure of this king making an offering to " Horus, the Bull, the lord of the Land of Kenset.'
