Now this is the first appearance of the name Kash in the Egyptian inscriptions, and it is the original of " Cush," the name given to Nubia by the writers of the Old Testament, and by most of the peoples with whom the Hebrews came in contact. The Hebrews, however, unlike many classical authors and post Christian writers, never included " Ethiopia " in the term.
