By " bread stamps " he appears to mean terra-cotta models of sacrificial cakes, or loaves of bread, of a conical shape A , TYPICAL PYRAMID AT GEBEL BARKAT of which so many examples exist in all museums ; if his assumption be correct, the ruins where they were found must mark the site of some funerary building.
