( 346 ) APPENDIX II.
LIST OF PLANTS COLLECTED BY EEV. C. T. WILSON.
THE plants enumerated in the following list were collected by the Eev. C. T. Wilson in Uganda and Uzongora, and the islands off their coasts ; they were brought to England and deposited in the Herbarium at Kew, where they were examined by Professor Oliver and other botanists, who have furnished the accompanying catalogue. It will be seen that though only nineteen species of ferns are given below, that fifty species or varieties are mentioned in the former part of this book as occurring in this region. The collection of these specimens were all destroyed in the wreck of the Daisy at Makongo, in September, 1878, together with many other specimens of flowering plants, so that nearly all the plants enumerated in this list were collected subsequent to that date.
