- 15 -When we saw the English newspapers deliberately distorting the facts in their writings about Sudan and the position of the English in that country in the Nile Valley, we wrote a letter to The Times newspaper in which we explained to the British public the facts of the Sudanese issue as recorded by true history and confirmed by those knowledgeable.

We received a letter from the editor-in-chief of that newspaper stating that he would keep our article for reference when writing about the Sudan issue. This, of course, meant a reluctance to publish that article.

Since the conditions in Sudan continue to occupy minds in this country, we decided to send a translation of the said article to the Egyptian newspapers. This is its translation after the preface.
