The total length of these two lines is about 28 kilometers, and their construction cost is 1383 Egyptian Pounds. The cost per kilometer is 49.8 Egyptian Pounds. Work is underway on constructing two other lines, from Bilbeis to Shibin El Qanater and from El Mahalla to El Matariya. The construction of a line from Banha to Tanta, from Banha to Mit Ghamr and El Mansoura, and from Mahalla Rouh to El Mahalla El Kubra is currently under consideration. Work continued on paving the line from Cairo to Alexandria, from both ends simultaneously.

17 - The Mechanical Department The work of this department increased significantly. The number of licenses it issued to the irrigation department during the year reached 1757, compared to 1136 in 1912, an increase of 621 licenses. Of these, 508 licenses were for irrigation pumps, compared to 198 licenses in 1913, an increase of 157% in pump licenses. This indicates that the irrigation departments worked extensively in processing the requests of those who applied for licenses for lifting machinery. All lifting machinery previously managed by the Irrigation Department was transferred to the Mechanical Department at the beginning of the year.

18 - Royal Buildings and Works In 1913, work was carried out on the following royal buildings: Tanta Secondary School El Mahalla Hospital (three new wards) The Archives School in Boulaq Ceilings and floors in the Khedivial offices Qena Hospital Assiut Court Assiut Secondary School Banha Prison The expenses amounted to approximately 298,000 Egyptian Pounds.
