Regarding the rights of the French appointed to them.

Article 1: All French are equal before the law. Article 2: They shall contribute from their wealth to the treasury without privilege, a certain amount from each person according to his wealth. Article 3: Each of them is qualified to hold any office and any rank. Article 4: Each person's property is independent and its freedom is guaranteed to him. No one shall infringe upon it except by the rights mentioned in the law and in the manner specified by the ruler. Article 5: Every person present in the lands of the French shall follow his religion. No one shall participate in this, but rather it shall be declared and whoever interferes with his worship shall be prevented. Article 6: It is stipulated that the state shall be of the Catholic, Apostolic, Roman faith. Article 7: The construction of Catholic and other Christian churches shall be funded from the Christian treasury, and nothing shall be taken from it for the construction of places of worship of other religions. Article 8: No one in France shall be prevented from expressing his opinion, writing it, or printing it, provided that it does not harm the law. If it harms, it shall be removed. Article 9: All property and lands are sacred, and no one shall encroach upon another's property. Article 10: The state alone, and no one else, has the right to compel a person to sell his real estate for a public benefit, provided that the equivalent price is paid before expropriation. Article 11: All past opinions and arts before this law must be forgotten, as well as what has happened in the court and among the people. Article 12: Taking into account what may result and what was diminished from what it was, and what may be clarified by a known law, armies shall be placed on land and sea.
