Whenever departure renewed him, his body's ailments increased. And another said: My heart has become more sorrowful, flying and weeping for its loss. I used to weep for its dwelling, it was distressed and I wept. This does not contradict the material of reliance and trust in the Lord, as understood from the poet's words: I know, and extravagance is not my nature, that what is my sustenance will surely come to me. My right hand seeks it, and if I intended it, it would come to me without my sword. And the words of another: Be content with the least sustenance you are granted, and beware of seeking out desires. So, the sea is depleted, yet it is not diminished, and it is only troubled by excess. This means to be detached from what one dislikes traveling for, and what is revealed is for greed. As for the islands of the surrounding ocean, many of them have been conquered by Islam, such as the island of Jawr (with a damma on the 'jim'), for its people are Muslims. And in the lands of the Tatars, most of them are Muslim, and Christianity is rare there. From all of this, you learn that the five divisions of the world can be rightly preferred over each other, meaning one part is preferred over another due to the merit and influence of Islam. Thus, Asia would be the best of all, followed by Africa due to its population of Muslims, saints, and righteous people, especially as it includes Cairo in Egypt. Then comes Europe due to the strength of Islam and the presence of the Great Imam, the Imam of the Two Holy Sanctuaries, the Sultan of Islam there. Then come the islands of the sea due to their population of Muslims, as well as their extensive trade in the world, as is apparent. The lowest of the divisions is the land of America, where Islam is non-existent.
