In the latter month of Jada, news came from Janna that the army of the Tekruri had arrived in the land of Janna. In the illuminated month of Sha'ban, we also received news that they had cut off the road of Ibn Ak'ab. And from Janna, in that month of this year, we heard in our city of Timbuktu that the two holy cities (Mecca and Medina) had been besieged by an army of more than twenty thousand, approaching the city of the Messenger of God, peace be upon him. Then God Almighty sent down heavy rain upon them, and they perished in great numbers by the power of God, the Almighty, the Compeller. None remained of them but a small group, and they fled until they approached their homes, then they died by the power of Him who revives bones when they are dust. And God knows best of His creation and His decree. On Wednesday, the second of the illuminated month of Sha'ban, the Imam, son of the Imam, Abu Bakr, Imam of the mosque of Al-Fa', died at sea in a place called Anal, drowned. May God Almighty have mercy on him. At that hour, news also came from Janna that the camp of Qama' al-Tekruri had arrived in the land of Janna, approaching it greatly. Its people resisted by marching to their markets and besieged them until they captured the land of Kutub and entered it. And they besieged every village of Janna, even besieging a settlement among them called Yinkis. On Sunday, the thirteenth of the mentioned month, 'Ammar Sayyid bin Muhammad bin Al-Amir bin Muhammad Mu'ud died. May God Almighty have mercy on him. Amen. On the night of Thursday, the first night of the honored month of Ramadan, Al-Kahia Baba Abd al-Rahman bin Al-Kahia Sayyid al-Haj died. May God have mercy on him, and he was buried in the morning. At the end of Shawwal, as it was ending, Tawqit Tazama Hayya, daughter of the commander Ali bin Muhammad al-Tazkirkani, died. May God Almighty have mercy on her. Amen. On the night of Sunday, between Maghrib and Isha, the twentieth of the sacred Muharram, corresponding to the year one hundred and forty-three, Al-Fa' Abd Allah bin Al-'Allama Al-Faqih Abu Muwi al-Tekruri died. May God Almighty have mercy on him. On Wednesday, the twenty-third of it, Sayyid Bakr bin Al-Haj Juhud al-Fad'asi died. May God have mercy on him.
