The Banna and all who complained of hardship to him, he did not speak to them or forbid them from people. And if the jurists and the nobles had been otherwise, from the archers, because of his tyranny over them, then what had preceded between him and them before this time, and it was stored with him. We heard that they belittled him and humiliated him, and even beat him, and then he belittled them. And he entered into a plan to take them by turns, and he did not force them except in this way, and therefore what happened to them happened, and he gathered them with all the Muslims. We seek refuge in God from that time. The result was that everyone with power was prevented from his power, and everyone with dominion was prevented from his dominion. Truly, no one among the people owned his slave or his female slave, except for his slaves, who were called thus. And if a slave or a female slave escaped from his master, he would only go to them in their lands. And if a slave or a female slave fled to them, they would never return her to her master. And his name reached the east and the west, and his name was elevated above their names, so you would not hear anyone's name except his name and the name of his slave at that time. And a messenger from the Sultan came to him once or twice with letters containing prayers and praise for him from him specifically, apart from the commanders, the powerful ones, and the army. Then the Sultan's messenger was sent to him with gifts, and he had honor, glory, dominion, and awe that increased every day. And he accumulated a considerable amount of wealth during his reign, and he made a treasury for everything he acquired, and nothing was sought in his house except that it was found stored, such as gold, silver, opium, silk, clothing, tanned hides, red and yellow, and the equipment of swords, and the abundant white cowrie shells.
