Fashoda district, and it is a tribe of slaves, whose people sleep on ashes and wash their faces with cow dung. They go naked as their mothers bore them. This is in the form of a decree, based on the second part of the decrees.

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Praise be to God, the noble Wali, and peace be upon our master Muhammad and his family, with peace.

From the servant of God, the humble, to God, Muhammad al-Mahdi, son of Abdullah, to his beloved in God, Muhammad bin Muhammad Al-Hasan Mirghani, may his master be his protector, Amin.

After that, peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you and upon those with you, and then your greetings.

God has repeatedly sent messages from us to the servants of God, calling them to God, to return to what is with Him, to fulfill His command, to be devoted to Him, to abandon the self, and to shun what is forbidden. And whoever dedicates himself to God and his command is for God, he is with us in the religion of God. And whoever does not gather and stand with God with the intention of helping us and stands firm in hardships for the purity of his path in seeking what is with God, he is from us and our ally, even if he dies on that. He will meet his Lord and be with Him in a way that cannot be described, with immense reward and protection from the evils of this world. We have written to you specifically, not once, out of concern for your position, and as a witness against you, and with the belief that there is good in you. So, you have not responded to us, nor have you shown any zeal for the religion, nor have you moved your hearts with the love of God. And I do not know what prevents you from this, even though you are more deserving of joy in us, and of answering us, and of supporting us than anyone else. So, what has delayed you until the common people have passed you by, and the knowledgeable ones have and the people of honor, and the wise, who are those whom God has described as: "And in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of the night and the day, are signs for those of understanding. Those who remember God while standing and sitting, and [lying] on their sides, and contemplate the creation of the heavens and the earth, [saying], 'Our Lord, You did not create this aimlessly.'"
