28 before the Caliph, may God strengthen him, and every envious person is saddened. Justice and the workers are compensated from their livelihoods. Thus it began. And the night of the birth of the best of mankind, the intercessor on the Day of Judgment, cast its shadow. The celebration was in her house, surpassing her hopes. And our master the Caliph, may God exalt him, recited a praise for the best of creation, upon him be the most excellent prayers and peace, his saying: The humble are satisfied, and the beloved is accustomed. And sorrow has struck my heart, a misfortune. And my soul has turned to melting. And tears from my eyes are about to fall. I was close to you with union. And I have become afflicted with you by burning coals. The beloved has forsaken me, so the envious have rejoiced. And the camel has departed, and the close one has arrived. And my sin is that I have been forsaken, even though I have committed sins. Oh, I wish I knew what sin it is that causes tears to flow. So I am on the coals, scorned. For my sufficiency has been fulfilled, and the hearts are satisfied. My hope in you has been fulfilled, so have mercy. And strengthen me in your matter, for I am suspicious. I am a stranger, unique among you. And God forbid that you should drive away a stranger. And I have no sin except my love for you. And by God, I will not repent of my love for you. If you distance yourself and I am humiliated, then you are the ones who forgive sins. And if you show mercy, you will show mercy to your beloved, for the gaze of your chosen one covers sins. A prisoner.
