Then Nasr Allah followed him on the eighth of Dhu al-Hijjah with his son, the noble Amir Abu Tashfin, may Allah prolong his life. Then he set out, by the command of Allah, with his noble retinue on Monday the eleventh of the same month, to march to war against the enemies, after he had appointed as vizier Sheikh Abu Musa Imran bin Musa bin Fares bin Hur bin Al-Walawi. The armies met him, and he conquered Dir al-Butha and descended into al-Butha. The enemy, Bafail Biran, had besieged it. On Tuesday the twenty-fifth of the aforementioned Dhu al-Hijjah, the two armies clashed. The battle raged all day in Wadi Madinah. The Amir of the Muslims, may Allah perpetuate his reign, raised his banner near his camp, accompanied by the strength of his people. Among them were those who harbored hypocrisy and were inclined to betrayal. The enemy attacked them, and the Amir of the Muslims did not realize it. It was night, and people had opened their way, except for a group that had fled. He saw a faint light, not to be counted by stones. So he took heed, may Allah be pleased with him, and protected his women and raised his possessions. He then entered the Kerman. In Wadi Saym, the day overtook him, and the enemy was behind him like a swarm of locusts. They threw stones and attacked the pilgrims, calling for water, and left the battle to be fought. They pursued him, answering his call, until they all arrived. Then they took him, and the enemy, the women, and the property were captured.
