Among the great knowers of God Almighty, vast in inner knowledge, of great standing, famous as Al-Kassi Amant. When he began to interpret the Glorious Quran, expressions would crowd upon him with words unheard of in knowledge. Likewise, in the Prophetic Hadith and the Quranic secrets, and the clarification of obscure issues with answers. He excelled when you attended his مجلس (gathering) and looked at his state, nothing would come to your mind but the Companions and what they were upon, may God be pleased with them. As for the word 'miracles' and the appearance of miracles and the breaking of norms, it is a new thing in the sea and the land, but he and those who are neutral do not accept it nor deny it, due to the strength of their resolve and their high status. If we were to follow what we witnessed of his affair, numerous volumes would be written. And in this, there is sufficiency. And when our scholars have acted upon their knowledge, it is not hidden from those who have come to know their history and witnessed their state. And among them was the jurist Abu Al-Hasan Ibn Al-Athir, and Abu Al-Hasan Ali Ibn Ahmad Ibn Al-Khatib, and our sheikh, the knower of God Almighty, Sibuy Ahmad Zurun, whose mention has preceded. And among them was the Imam, the preserver of Hadith, the jurist Abu Al-Hasan Ibrahim Ibn Ahmad Ibn Abdullah Al-Ajad Ibn Al-Luwanah Al-Tarabulsi. He was, in my opinion, the most knowledgeable of his time in all sciences: rhetoric, recitation, grammar, language, prosody, elocution, and interpretation. He authored two valuable and beneficial works in jurisprudence and other fields. Among his writings are the book *Kifayat Al-Mutahaffiz*, the book *Bahr Al-Arud* (small and large), and the book *Al-Radd 'ala Abi Hisah fi Tanqib Al-Lisan* (Refutation of Abu Hisah on the Scrutiny of the Tongue) and a commentary on the end of *Ma' al-Akhirah* (Water of the Hereafter) from *Al-Asma'* (The Names) and an explanation of the reasons for this affliction, in which he encompassed all its rulings in its various states, from diminutives to augmentatives and others. And when he encompassed this, he then summarized it in a general way without detailing the explanation of the verses in Surat Maryam, due to its extensive inclusion of many of these rulings. These writings are of the highest quality and accuracy. He also has a concise book on genealogy, and another concise book on *Al-Anwar 'ala Madhhab Al-'Arab* (The Lights according to the Arab School), and a treatise on the year. He had many acts of worship and abundant knowledge. The reason for his authorship was that he once attended the judge of the land, Abu Muhammad Abdullah Ibn Ibrahim Ibn Hanash Al-Tarabulsi, who made a ruling that contained an error. The jurist responded to him with a stern reprimand, saying, "Be silent, O wise one, in what you have been asked, or else you will be lost." So he wrote the treatise and abridged the book *Nasab Quraysh* (Genealogy of Quraysh) by Abu Abdullah Ibn Al-Zubayr Ibn Abi Bakr Abu Abdullah Ibn Mus'ab Ibn Thabit Ibn Abdullah Ibn Al-Zubayr Ibn Al-Awwam, may God have mercy on him. Al-Tijani said: And this authorship is sufficient for you as a sign of his excellence and greatness. And Sheikh Abu Al-Hasan Ibn Mugith praised this book, saying: It is a wondrous book, not a forgotten book. And Abu Ishaq included in it from his memory, sections that contain the births of the Imams, and we did not know of his journey to the afterlife or elsewhere. And he said to me: "My master, is it sufficient for you?" He replied: "It is sufficient for me, my master, and its origins are two doors of the city, the first of which is its east, and the second is its west, and their lineage is attributed to whom..."
