-93-He who takes a companion, his head is not redeemed by anything of value. The Sheikh said, "I am not weak; my concern is for my people." He passed away, may God be pleased with him, in the year sixteen after one thousand and one hundred of the Hijra of the Master of Messengers, peace be upon him.

Hamad bin Muhammad bin Ali Al-Mashaykhi, known to people by his mother Maryam, his mother was Mahsiya, a Mushrifiyya from the daughters of the Wali Qattal, and his father was from the Awliya of Abu Najila Al-Din Tarar. His lineage is noble, and he is the son of the scholar Hamad in Al-Jazira. He passed away in the year fifty-five after one thousand. He memorized the Book from the scholar Arbab Al-Khashin and read with him Tawhid and Ibn Ata Allah. He studied Khalil twice with the scholar Ahmad Bab. He was one who commanded good and forbade evil, and the blame of the blamer did not deter him in God's cause. He was a master of kings and those below them. He used to say, "My first matter is words, my second matter is actions, and my third matter is intentions." I will explain this with absolute clarity when I intend to. As for words, it is commanding good and forbidding evil. Dafa Allah bin Sheikh Zain Al-Abidin informed me, saying, "I asked the scholar Hamad about the dispute that occurred between him and his Sheikh Arbab Al-Aqabid." He said, "I was his servant and accompanied him. One day I said to him, 'My master, are we commanded to do things like this knowledge we have read?'" He said, "We are commanded to do things like this." I said to him, "Khalil said it is disliked to pray for someone who is not considered superior, but rather a sign of arrogance." He said, "Yes." I said, "Al-Hayqal said about the one who abandons prayer that he is not prayed for." He said, "Yes." I said, "Why did you not pray for them?" He abandoned that for a time, and the people were not pleased with him. His relatives said to him, "Your people are confused, and your neighbors listen to the words of Hamad Al-Mushtaq." So he returned to what he was, and they were pleased with him. I entered, and he passed away. These are my reasons with him. May God be pleased with him. He used to command everyone who came to him and repented at his hands to correct their repentance with its conditions, and he would say to them, "Among the conditions of repentance are regret for what has been missed in neglecting God's obligations, knowing God Almighty, prayer, fasting, Zakat, and others. Sincerity in what one does, and abandoning adultery, usury, arrogance, envy, self-admiration, and vanity. And the religion that corrupts them, and what is not permissible for him to hear with his hearing, and what is not permissible for him to hear, and he accompanies them, contradicting the Qassab who confiscates people's wealth and all their food, and eating the food of those with corrupt consciences. All of this is from the Sunnah that the Messenger of God, peace be upon him, established. And he commands everyone who repents at his hands not to marry his daughter or his ward to a dissolute person, such as a barber who divorces, a usurper, and all usurers, and others. Among them is that he forbade mixing with women, lowering the gaze, and cutting off women's speech where men can hear it.

But the virginity of women, and he said that this is from the Sunnah. And among them is that if someone comes to him while he is reciting the Quran and wants to complete it with him, he says to him, "It is not permissible for you to recite the Quran while you are..."
